How long have you been shooting weddings?
I shot my first wedding ten years ago and I’ve been shooting weddings ever since. I love documenting couple’s love stories and being there during all the moments that matter most.
What inspired you to start working in the field?
I started my business shooting portraits and as I started expanding to weddings, I learned I love it! I got to spend more time with my awesome clients and be there behind the scenes during one of the best days of their lives. I get to share in the magic of special moments like the groom seeing his bride for the first time and all the giddy laughter & happy tears that accompany a couple saying “I do”. It’s a very special and personal profession and I enjoy every moment of it.
As a photographer describe your process?
My process starts with a complimentary consultation with an interested couple. We discuss their love story and wedding vision and if we agree I’m a good fit for their wedding, they’ll pay a deposit & sign a package agreement to officially book! I continue to get to know my couples through their engagement portrait session and check-ins via email and phone to coordinate details for the wedding day.
What are your favorite moments during the couple shoot?
I think one of my favorite moments during a wedding is the exchanging of the vows. It is such a sweet, intimate moment that never gets old.
How many shooting hours would you recommend for our particular wedding?
The amount of coverage a wedding needs depends on many factors. A small, short micro-wedding will need less coverage than a ballroom wedding reception that goes late into the night. I’ve found that for most couples, 8 hours of coverage is enough to cover getting ready, portraits, the ceremony, and the most important moments of the reception like first dances and cake cutting.
Is there a wedding style you haven’t done yet?
I have never shot an Indian wedding and I’d would love to! South Asian weddings are very vibrant and colorful with many unique traditional such as bridal henna/mehendi.
