Our Wedding Website on The Knot
One of my favorite details was the wedding logo. It was displayed on our invitations, ice sculpture, the candy bars (favors), the seating chart and the dance floor. It created uniformity amongst the design and added class. I found the perfect wedding invitations on Etsy. The seller (HandmadesbyTroy) did an amazing job and willingly gave me the logo file so that I could use it on other features of the wedding. Although the invites were affordable, they looked very expensive and elegant.
The wedding décor for my wedding was inspired by the vision board that I created. I found images on google, Instagram, and Pinterest. I accumulated all the images into a word document and organized them into floral arrangements, color schemes, floor designs, key elements that I “Really wanted,” and elements that were “optional”. This really helped me translate my vision to the planner and other vendors. This also helped us in prioritizing in terms of budgeting. We also used my personal style as inspiration. I love rhinestones, gold details and classy vibes. We included all of those things in the wedding day aesthetics.
What song did you walk down the aisle to? “I do” – Mark Middleton
What song played for your first dance? “I believe in you” – Joe and NSYNC
When I first saw our venue online, I said, “Miles… this is it!” There were beautiful chandeliers and many details enhancing the elegance around the room. I saw myself entering the room as everyone looked up. As a little girl, I watched Cinderella take everyone’s breath away as she entered the ballroom. I felt like a princess at the ball at the Grand Marquise Ballroom.
The biggest surprise was seeing the completed ballroom after the flip! The room was stunning. The ice sculpture was a breathtaking piece that everyone loved! I really wanted to make my wedding unique and representative of my style. As an artist, I love color and elaborate details. These two factors were displayed during both the ceremony and the reception. After months of planning, my heart definitely smiled when walking into the room.
My favorite part of the day was, hands down, the first dance!! Our first dance song is called “I Believe in You” by Joe and NSYNC. The setting was the most romantic thing I have ever seen. The lights were dimmed, candles were lit all around the entire room, and all eyes were on us. My husband and I danced to the whole song as if no one else were in the room. After the wedding, my friends shared the dance videos with me, which was even more beautiful than I remembered! As soon as the sparklers first went off, you could hear everyone in the room in awe as we danced on a cloud. It was indeed a moment that I will never forget.
Planner makes perfect! Angela and I got along very well. She made sure my wedding vision came to fruition, and we also had long conversations about other things in life together. Mrs. Angela learned what times were best for me to talk and knew how I would respond to certain things without me even telling her. She took the time to get to know me, which was valuable. I don’t think there is anything I would have changed in the planning process. The few hiccups that happened could not have been predicted.
The first key thing any couple should do when wedding planning is find a planner that is a perfect match. One should seek a planner that is not only invested in recreating your vision but investing in finding a way to make things happen within your budget. In the beginning, I was worried that I would not be able to have the beautiful wedding that I had always dreamed of. However, Angela and I worked together to find the best vendors for the ambiance that we aimed to create. She even surprised me with beautiful cake-cutting knives, wine glasses, and silverware to use on the day of the wedding.
My husband and I can both agree that our wedding day flew by. We had the time of our lives and hated to see it come to an end. It was so special to have all our of loved ones in one room celebrating our union. The weekend started really well with rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. We could not have imagined being even happier. Overall, the wedding turned out to be a huge success and this really pleased us.
We are looking forward to our honeymoon in the Maldives! Our guests donated to our honeymoon fund as wedding gifts. Thanks to them, our trip was paid for!
