2. Where will your guests stay?  If you have several guests traveling from out of town, it’s good to be conscious of their boarding options. 

Will they be staying on location at the venue, or is there a hotel nearby? Are the rates at the hotel within a price range that would be comfortable for most of your friends and family? 

3. How much you’re willing to spend? It’s easy to get carried away when viewing beautiful venues, so make sure to set a firm budget ahead of time (and stick to it!). 

Remember, the money you don’t spend on your venue will be going to something equally important, like your honeymoon! 

4. How the venue makes you feel. This may be the most important tip. When scouting a venue, try not to worry too much about what other people will think. 

This is your day, and all that matters is how the venue makes you and your partner feel. Much like a potential spouse, if the venue is attractive but doesn’t light you up inside, it’s not the one! 

5. How much privacy do you want to have? If you and your partner prefer seclusion, that’s something to keep in mind on your venue hunt. Some locations, like public beaches, make for stunning weddings, but they tend to come with onlookers. 

With the right mindset, this can add to the celebratory atmosphere. But nobody can blame you if you want to keep things private, so choose your location accordingly!
